- ALL PreCanSkate, CanSkate and CanPowerSkate Levels MUST wear a CSA approved hockey helmet.
- CSA approved helmets are mandatory for participation. Any other type of helmet is not allowed to be worn. No exceptions.
- Full face masks are not required but highly recommended. Visit Skate Canada's Safe Sport Guide for more info.
Once skaters have reached Star 5/STARGroup, they can choose with their parent if they would like to continue wearing a helmet. MHSC recommends wearing one until they move into STARGroup and have more control.
The helmet must have a “CSA Approved” sticker on it or the skater will not be allowed on the ice. This is for insurance purposes.
