Welcome to our Skating Family!

The ultimate goal of the Medicine Hat Skating Club is to help each skater maximize their skill potential, gain confidence, learn respect, achieve discipline and be inspired to be the best they can be. These are all attributes that will help them accomplish success in sport and in life. At this club “We don’t just develop great skaters… We develop great people!”



Fall/Winter Registration:

There are 2 ways to register....

  1. CALENDAR:  Scroll down to the bottom of this page and change the calendar month to September.
    Click on the program on the day and time you are interested in for more information and then click "Register".

  2. QUICK LINKS: In the section below select the program and session you are looking to register for. Each Button will open up additional information and then you will find the "Register" button.

Either way, once you click the “Register” button you will be prompted to login to your account and then select the Skater you want to register for that class. You will then be given the option to go to the Shopping Cart or back to the main screen so that you can add another class.

Important Registration Information

  • Every family is required to have an account. Accounts cannot be combined be sure not to create more than one. Once created with the parent's personal information you will add your Skater and their personal information. The email address and password you use to create your family account will be used each time to log into your account. Once your account is set up you will be able to log into our registration system quickly and secure your spot.

  • Each Skater is required to be carry Skate Canada Insurance. Insurance is valid for one year, September 1st until August 31st each year and is valid at all Skate Canada accredited skate schools/Clubs. The mandatory $45 Skate Canada insurance fee will automatically be added to your invoice if your Skates does not have a current number.

  • Skate Canada Numbers. If you skated with another club this season and do not know your Skate Canada number please set your payment method to “cheque” this will allow the system time to pull down your Skater’s Skate Canada number from their database. If you have a Skate Canada number, even if it is not active, please add it to your Skater’s profile in your account, or contact us with the number and we can add it for you. Once the number is added the system will automatically remove this mandatory fee and then your payment can be made. We will reissue the corrected invoice for payment.

Learn to Skate

Skate Canada developed a new CanSkate program based on Sport Canada’s long term athlete development (LTAD) principles.

Exciting new features include a fresh new look, new awards, great tools for coaches and most importantly a tested and proven new curriculum and delivery methods that guarantee skater success in developing stronger basic skills and developing them faster. 

The program also includes specific skills that pertain to hockey, ringette, speed skating and figure skating. The result is a dynamic new program that prepares all skaters for virtually every ice sport.

Learn to Train

CanPowerSkate is a Skate Canada program that has been designed to enhance the skating skills needed for both hockey and ringette players in the Learn to Train stage of development.





Learn to Compete

STARGroup is for skaters of any age that would like to progress from the CanSkate “learn to Skate” program into the Skate Canada STARSkate figure skating stream. Here, Skaters will continue to improve on the base skills while learning on more advanced skills while under the direction of our Skate Canada certified Coaching staff in a group setting.

Learn to Excel

STARSkate (Jr & Sr)
offers opportunities for skaters of all ages to develop fundamental figure skating skills in the areas of ice dance, skating skills, free skate, and interpretive skating.

Unique in Canada, this program teaches figure skating skills in a group and/or private lesson format in a progressive and sequential manner and includes specifically designed awards and incentives. Skaters have the opportunity to take Skate Canada Tests through a nationally standardized testing system.

Sometimes, families need financial assistance to get their kids into a sport or physical activity. We're committed to helping all families access a range of activities, from boxing to bowling and skating to skiing, and more.
