STARGroup is for skaters of any age that would like to progress from the CanSkate “Learn to Skate” program into the Skate Canada STARSkate figure skating stream. Here, skaters will continue to improve on the base skills while learning on more advanced skills while under the direction of our Skate Canada Certified Coaching staff in a group setting.
STARGroup classes are offered in a one or two day a week options and are in a group setting. Skaters can arrange for private lessons with a coach if they choose in addition to the group sessions, but this would be at an extra cost to the skater. This is a great class to see if the figure skating stream is really what your skater would like at a great price and to aid in the technical development of our skaters.
Enrolment is open to all skaters who have passed CanSkate level 4. Parents and skaters may be approached by the Head Coach during a class as your skater has completed the basic programming and is showing the need for a new challenge. The STARGroup program is composed of a mixture of CanSkate level 5/6 skaters as well as STAR 1/2 STARSkaters.
